WELCOME TO THE SECTION ON TECHNOLOGY START-UPS.
THIS IS THE INTRODUCTORY PAGE OF THIS SECTION & PROVIDES A BRIEF OVERVIEW.
THE OTHER PAGES IN THIS SECTION CAN BE ACCESSED IN SEQUENCE BY CLICKING ON THE RESPECTIVE LINKS PROVIDED IN THE GREY BAR (AT THE LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THIS PAGE AS WELL AS THE SUCCEEDING PAGES).
Our focus is on early stage (seed and angel) investments in technology based start-ups and on mentoring great technology ideas. Early stage (seed and angel) investments in technology based start-ups form one of our focus areas (for a quick overview of our activity segments, please click here). This section is intended to provide necessary guidance and assistance to such prospective associates i.e. innovative technology based start-up entrepreneurs who would like to contact us for investment in their companies. Since we receive many investment proposals, hence we have developed a structured investment appraisal process. This is complemented by our expertise in techno-commercial issues. A word of caution however – our confidence in our appraisal capabilities and systems should not be taken as symptomatic of what the ancient Greeks considered as the most deadly sin of all -- HUBRIS.
We are well aware that no system can ever deliver perfectly in all conditions and for all time. We thus explicitly acknowledge the very real possibility of shortcomings and errors in our Investment Proposal appraisal process as well. In fact, the succeeding pages of this section discuss this issue in some detail so as to put the investment proposal appraisal process in perspective. In addition, the succeeding pages in this section also provide necessary guidance and assistance to our prospective associates i.e. innovative-tech entrepreneurs who may be considering contacting us for early stage (Seed/Angel) investment in their technology-based start-ups.
The next page in this section discusses the inherent fallibility of any investment proposal appraisal process in the context of a well-known incident of the early 1960's involving the famous music group "The Beatles'. The succeeding pages then go on to discuss this point further and also describe the investment evaluation process sequentially.
